Bridge Prior to Storm

I took the photo that inspired this painting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The storm was just starting to roll in, and the light hit everything with that dramatic hush right before the rain. I couldn’t resist capturing it—I knew I had to paint it. The contrast between the lush green and the heavy sky was so striking, and the bridge felt like a quiet invitation to step into the moment. This one holds a lot of energy for me.
