Mrs. Miller

This painting was inspired by a moment in a Santa Fe restaurant, where I saw this elegant elderly woman sitting by the window. Something about her posture, her expression, the way the light touched her face—it all moved me. I asked if I could take her photo, and she graciously agreed. Painting her was a way of honoring the quiet strength and grace I saw in her that day. There’s a stillness in this piece that I hope invites others to pause and really see her, just like I did.
