Ruins in New Mexico

I painted this from a photo I found in New Mexico Magazine, and it quickly became one of my favorites. There was something hauntingly beautiful about those ruins set against the snow-capped mountains—like they were standing guard over centuries of stories. I loved bringing out the textures in the stone and the contrast between the warm earth and the cool sky. This one really stayed with me as I worked on it.
