Shepherd Overlooking His Flock

This is one of my favorites because it evokes such a deep sense of serenity. I found the photo in New Mexican Magazine and was immediately drawn to the stillness in it—the shepherd leaning quietly against the post, watching over his sheep with care and calm. I could almost feel the breeze and hear the soft sounds of the pasture. It reminded me that there’s beauty in stillness, and strength in quiet work. Painting it was a peaceful experience from beginning to end.
